Perrenland Cantons
Khundholm
Hintervoormann (head of the Cantonal Council): Haigh Righ
(High King) Barandon
The ancient dwarven Kingdom of Khundholm was reforged following the breaking
of the Kin-Sundering Curse in 593 CY. In 594 CY the Khund High King Barandon
declared that the Kingdom of Khundholm would be a free kingdom within the
territory of Perrenland. This was a bold political move, but general sentiment
in Perrenland towards Khundholm was positive, even in Yattenheid, who stood
to lose a great deal of territory but gain an ally against the Tiger Nomads
as well as considerable commercial benefits through trade with Khundholm and
Tusmit. Later that year, recognising that he needed Perrenland's full support,
High King Barandon modified his position and instead sought to have Khundholm
recognised as a semi-autonomous kingdom within Perrenland. His request was
approved by the Concatenated Council of Perrenland, which granted Khundholm
the status of a Canton and the Khund the status of a clan.
