The Military

Perrenland is famous for its mercenaries and soldiers, and justly so. Military service is a national tradition: almost everyone spends at least three years in the standing army (Auszug), creating a large pool of well-trained soldiers in the army reserve (Landwehr), some of whom are hired as mercenaries (Pax Mercuri) to travel outside Perrenland and fight in other country's wars.

Membership of Perrenland's fighting forces is available as a metaorganisation. Also, Gandalin the Grey's "confidential" reports to the Circle of Eight on Perrenland's armed forces and hiring Perrenese mercenaries have made their way into general circulation.
