Perrenland Geography
Foothills
Perrenland
has few areas of true foothills, as the Yatils and Clatspur ranges rise almost
straight from the Feronwold. The Sepia Uplands and Mounds of the Dawn are
perhaps the largest hill-lands, but both areas are really extensions of the
mountain ranges of which they form parts.
The Sepia Uplands are home to several large communities of gnomes, many of
whom see themselves more aligned to Highfolk than Perrenland. Relations are
generally good, despite the formal annexation of this area by Perrenland and
the formation of the new Canton of Vesbergen. For further information, see
the map
of the Sepia Uplands.
Perrenland claims the Mounds of the Dawn in totality, but they are poorly
colonised and are notorious for the many monsters that inhabit the area. Exag,
the oldest Oeridian city in the Flanaess, was founded near the Mounds of the
Dawn, and is well worth exploring by strangers and locals alike. The Mounds
of the Dawn are noted for several large hills of peculiar shape and design,
appearing almost artificial in nature. Few persons have explored these mounds
and fewer have returned.
