Perrenland Government
Cantonal
Perrenland's cantons are separate political entities within Perrenland. Each
is governed by an elected Cantonal Council, headed by its Hintervoormann.
Each canton holds separate elections, and the methods of election and terms
of office vary from canton to canton. The Hintervoormann holds a seat on the
Concatenated Council of all Perrenland, where they represent their Canton.
Once elected, the Hintervoormann is responsible for the appointment of eight
Munistres, who form the executive body of the Cantonal Council. The Munistres
work closely with the Landgrafs, Hetmenn, Stadt Councils and the Hintervoormann
to implement cantonal policy and manage cantonal officials.
Generally, each Munistre is responsible for an administrative department
of the Canton. These departments vary from canton to canton, but common ones
are Public Works, Justice, Defence, Inland Revenue, Public Morality, Health,
Ports and Shipping, Finance, Taxation, Agriculture and Industry. Each department
is funded by Cantonal taxation and revenue. Each Cantonal Council contributes
10% of its taxation revenue to the coffers of the Voormann for the maintenance
of the federal tier of government.
