The Wildstriders
Revised for 596 CY
The Wildstriders date back to the Oeridian settlement of what is now Perrenland,
when followers of Fharlanghn banded together to learn the secrets of the Quaglands
wilderness, vowing to use this knowledge to protect those traveling the wilds.
Unfortunately, this often brought them into conflict with the more retributive
nature-worship of the ancient and established Grove, especially the followers
of the Shalm, and that rivalry continues to this day.
In more recent history, the membership has expanded to include those who venerate
other deities, but who are still willing to swear the same oath of service.
The Wildstriders are sworn to the protection of those who need to brave the
wilderness, irrespective of race or clan ties. They also act as guides and
messengers to far-flung settlements, often isolated by Perrenland’s harsh
terrain and weather. The membership comprises mostly rangers, but druids,
barbarians, and clerics, especially of Fharlanghn, make up a reasonable proportion
of the group, and there have been exceptional wizards, bards and rogues who
have used their unique talents for the good of travelers in the wild.
