Perrenland Politics
Karl Hussen (560-593 CY)
son of Franz and Karla Hussen
Karl Hussen was the eldest son of the former Voormann Franz and his wife,
Pfalzgraf Karla Hussen. Karl had a good military background, having spent
six years in the Auszug and a further three years abroad in a mercenary unit.
His considerable combat experience and demonstrated bravery and intelligence
were well regarded by many.
Karl announced his candidacy for the position of Voormann following his successful
elimination of a large goblinoid warband that had been attacking caravans
travelling on the Krestingstrek. This raised his profile considerably and
earned him some favourable comments across Perrenland. He was also admired
for his ability at public speaking.
"I will be the first to admit that the Clan Hussen has in the
past perhaps complained more than acted. Thus I ask the chance to redress
this, to serve my clan and my country in a manner that brings honour to them
both. The world has changed dramatically in recent years and a leader of this
realm must be prepared to adapt to that. I believe that I can do this. Given
the chance I will lead Perrenland into its proper place in our new world and
seek to attain for our country what it rightfully may claim and what we truly
deserve."
However, in 591 CY, it was proven that Karl had been the backer of the goblinoid
warband in the first place, and that he was running a slaving operation in
the Yatils at an abandoned Ur-Flannae city called Kir Russ. For these crimes,
Karl was outlawed and went to ground. He then compounded his crimes by kidnapping
Hanne Weisspeer, the Voormann's eldest daughter, in 592 CY, and finally put
himself beyond all redemption in 593 CY by destroying the meeting chamber
of the Concatenated Council of All Perrenland while it was in session. Karl
was killed later that year.
