Kloetzenburg

Location: southern Perrenland, in the eastern Yatils, near Iggwilv's Spire (the mountain that sits above the fabled Caverns of Tsojcanth)

Population: 200 (primarily Vossers) plus garrison of 220

Description: Kloetzenburg was founded in the 560s CY as a forward bastion against the denizens that issue out of the Caverns of Tsojcanth from time to time. The Witch's Trail, which leads through the Yatils to Ket, passes through Kloetzenburg.

Fifteen large, whitewashed, communal stadts are arranged to provide an internal defence system common to mountain villages. The village itself is built atop a burg (small flat hill). The trail winds up the side of the burg for about five hundred feet, and for its entire length is vulnerable to defensive fire from the low stone wall and abutments that surround the village in a protective circle. Two tall stone keep and gatehouse fortifications control access into and out of the village. The trail, east to west, runs though the Kloetzenburg via these two sets of fortifications.

Things to do: Spend an evening in the White Raven inn listening to stories about the Witch Queen, the Caverns of Tsojcanth, and the local monsters.
